wingless angels on four legs
mews and patterings
that melts hearts far and wide.

you came into my life
by chance of fate
barely seven weeks of age
who knew.... months later
you would be my salvation....
the essence that kept me alive
from brink of death's doorway.

beside me through every hour
proof of life's reasoning
when I was drowning in hell
from deaths I couldn't fathom ~
three losses in two weeks time
you kept my insanity in check;
filtering away the shadows.

time ticks away in darkness
as the pounding never ceases;
the throbbing aches deep within my head.
when hope seems ready to implode,
compassion caresses my soul
from your hearts' purrfections;
touched by angels on four feet.

faithfully bestowed evermore
love through the years
my precious greys I cherish...
