Mom

I am.

Love, understanding, virtue.

I love breakfast buffets, and You’ve Got Mail.

My husband and my children

Are my priorities.

I want everyone to be happy.

My humility can go too far;

An effective peace maker.

Staying home is perfect.

Reading Lucy Maud books

In my decades-old rocking chair.

I am.

    What a very nice and sweet poem about a woman who knows who she is and is comfortable with it. Sounds like someone I would like to know. Thanks for sharing.

    ''Staying home is perfect.''

    A bookgirl after my own heart. I'm a homebody, pretty much. I don't mind going to a museum or something, but I don't have a lot of use for vacations and such.

    It always good to read these types of poems because they tell us about the author we are reading, and any information may her us as readers down the road.

    Are you an effective peacemaker? That is a skill we need more of!

      Thank you for your kind comments! But... it's about my mom, not about me. I guess the first-person form threw you off. I was trying out something new I'd discovered: bio-poetry. You can write it about anyone or anything but it's in the first person. (Same form I used for the one about my pet bunny.) As for peace-making, I don't know the answer to that. But I do aspire to obtain more of the excellent qualities that my mom has!
