Jet black coat and deep golden eyes,
the purest soul that can tell no lies.
She wants to please and never fails,
responds to praise by wagging tails.
Sleeping on my bed legs everywhere,
steals my pilloow knows I don't care.
She acts so dingy although very smart,
learns every time, has from the start.
Always liked learning new commands,
as long as I would meet her demands.
Asks for very little but's really needy,
gives so freely makes me feel greedy.
When in public she makes me proud,
mingles with others wins the crowd.
No words can describe her affection,
not one mean bone, zero protection.
I can't even imagine life without Jazz,
exemplifies everything friendship has.
Loving an animal so much seems odd,
but her eyes reflect the image of God.
Author notes
Light Insight
I wish her qualities could be found in more humans
then the world would a much better place to live in.

I love the poem. she sounds alot like my dog, only he doesn't protect because he is too lazy. I like the rhyming too, I would write more, but I see is has already been said.

Superb Plus +
'tis a very fine write. Imagery; rhythm and rhyme are just fine. Your title reminded me of a humorous one of mine, titled: "My Three Best Friends", here's a link in, in case you haven't read it: http://allpoetry.com/poem/5037507 -
