She came to me today.
A friend?
A lover?
Who knows as yet?
But she raised the winter fog
From my heart, my loins,
And I felt life stir,
Once again,
Like the early spring daffodils
That rise through the grass
At the base of the silver birches
On my lawn.
Bravely,
They turn towards the sun,
Hoping
That this is no false spring.
That the frosts of winter
Are truly gone at last.
My blood thickens
As I reach
For her,
Hoping
That she will take my hand
And breathe the warmth
Of her love
Onto my wintry, frosty heart,
So that I might bloom
Once again
In the summer heat
Of her love.
Please tell me what you think

Wonderful descripiton of basking in the summer heat of her love,,,removing the wintry frost..I like the way you have conveyed using the analogy of winter and summer. Lovely job here.

Wow, what a lovely and romantic write you have here.
I love writes that call forth elements and seasons, and speak of love in ways that not everyone can get away with,
the daffodils, love that line.
Love,
