Curious eyes close,
sensing unlit motions
of the moon
and the twilight
not seen.
Billow thickening
of willow skies,
the resin of midnight's violin
painting bow and string
like incense lingering
in song.
Two hearts untouched;
and crescent youth
smiled down at the reflection of stars,
the coral lips of innocence
chapped.
sensing unlit motions
of the moon
and the twilight
not seen.
Billow thickening
of willow skies,
the resin of midnight's violin
painting bow and string
like incense lingering
in song.
Two hearts untouched;
and crescent youth
smiled down at the reflection of stars,
the coral lips of innocence
chapped.
Author notes
to be young and in love for the first time. I chose chapped for my title, as in taking off a layer in the innocence of today's youth, how fast young lovers will rush and possibly make horrible mistakes along the way to adulthood.

Pretty: the word that best describes this poem. Can be amplified in this case by the modifier: very.
