my lips are quivering with sorrow.
My heart is being eaten out by poignancy
because you my best friend have to leave me.
My childhood friend you have forever changed my life
more than you or anyone else will ever know.
You're my unbiological sister, we have our very own bond
that know one will ever be able to break.
You'll be twelve hours away from me, instead of next door
and for this my life will never again be the same.
But our friendship will only grow stronger
cause I refuse to let our friendship deteriate.
You're the only person who knows my usually unspeakable secrets
and I am the same too you.
You're the only person who I can talk to for three to four hours everynight
and never run out of things to say.
We have our own inside jokes
you make me laugh harder than anyone else.
You're always there to comfort me when I cry
and tell me that I'm perfect.
You're the closet thing I have to a sister
and you're better than any sister I could ever dream for.
Tonight while helping you move your belongs out to the moving van
a shooting star flew across the black night sky,
and when I said I didn't make a wish on that star,
to you I actually lied.
I knew you would ask me what I wished for
and I didn't want my wish to not come true.
But in this poem I will say that my wish on that star,
had to do with you.
I can't wait to come down and see you in May
it's a long time away I know.
But when we come back together,
our friendship will be stronger than ever.
Everyone asks what I'll do without you
and I honestly have no clue.
You've been my best friend for 9 whole years
and I wish you didn't have to move.
My eyes are ready to spill with unshed tears
my lips are quivering with sorrow.
My heart is being eaten out by poignancy
because you my best friend have to leave me.
My childhood friend you have forever changed my life
more than you, or anyone else will ever know.
You're my unbiological sister, we have our very own bond
that know one will ever be able to break.
Author notes
I was in 4th grade when I met my best friend Ashley and tommarrow she is moving. She has been my next door neighbor for all nine years of our friendship and we have spent almost everyday of our lives together. I'm going to miss her with all of my heart because she is moving twelve hours away and I won't see her again until I go down and visit her in may. The part in this poem about the shooting star is actually true, first time I've really seen a shooting star while outside at night, and it couldn't have come at a better time......
