Sundial
Free of limitations:
it is never sentenced to the stale ticking
of a second hand,
the minimal use of double A batteries,
or the physical restraints of an electric cord.
Rather its freedom is reflected in the tangled beauty of blooms and ivy.
It needs no daylight saved,
and will never have to be wound and rewound:
a measureable flaw in the electric meter’s attempt
to chase the sun.
It is the stationary movements of light,
and the circular path of earth
that dances along the circumference of the stone face,
and so, too, within my own body and up through my closed eyes,
telling me the day is here.
Please tell me what you think

i like it...
a really nice tribute to simpler times and a world not absorbed with technology. 'it needs no daylight saved' is brilliant. A really nice piece.

Interesting concept, and comparrison. the sundial has a long history and many inventions attributed to it. Anyway, kept me reading until the end, which is more than some can.
