Friends to start,
then we exchanged hearts,
and the bumpy ride began...
Young and wild,
we had our child,
always a part of our plan.
Together we rode,
sometimes with load,
too heavy for many to lift
Always convicted,
through health and sickness,
we thought our life a gift.
Over the years,
and ocean's of tears,
some happy, some from pain
we remained a team,
held on to our dream,
in sunshine and in rain.
Soul mates found,
this time around,
how lucky can we be?
Year thirty four,
knocks at the door,
and we are still "we"...
Author notes
August 5th marks 34 years together...(1975)
we got officially married May 2nd...1993...so "married" for sixteen years...almost.

Wonderful flow, wonderful words - not found in many lives today, unfortunately.
We marked year 35 - a couple weeks ago....so I can well relate to your images that life, even with your soul-mate, is not always even but filled with its normal ups and downs. But when you remain a 'team', you can overcome most (if not all) of the curves life throws at you.
Nicely done!
best wishes in the contest
