Golden sun begins to set
On sapphire waters, crystal clear
Cinnamon sands warm
To the touch and wet
By the sea
Her hair, brunette
Kissed by the ocean’s mist and
Blowing in the summer breeze
Held back by her seashell barrette
She watches as the sun sinks low
Pebbles now outline a heart
At the water’s edge
Each one representing
A dream that fell apart
Shattered like broken glass
In the glow of moon’s white light
The tide is coming in and she watches
As what is left of this long lost love
Melts out of her sight
Like footprints in the sand

Wow. I love this piece. It is very well written and I really enjoyed it. It is soft and sweet, although representing what is lost. Impressive indeed. Thanks for entering and good luck!!!
