Where can you find contentment

A thirsty man from the vast oasis  see's a glass on a windows edge.

He cant tell if its half full or half empty or if any. It totters side to side, his left eye tell's him its empty his right eye tell's him its full. He has wandered for so long, he has fallen so many times, and he has  broken so many bones. He has lost so much and he has died so many times. he has wondered for so very long.
All that remains is his thirst, and his search to quench it.

Does he?

A. Decide that the glass is empty or a mere illusion  and continue walking on?
B.  Run to the glass only to discover it was all in his head? a metaphor for his heart?
C. Run to the glass, drink all it has to offer, only to be more thirsty than before?

if he chooses A.  he will either run into a vast ocean and drown, or die
from his thirst

if he chooses B. He will either  lie in a  state of shock and die as his mind and heart lie dried and frozen, or.... he will continue on with no goal hope or desire for anything, merely just waiting.

if he chooses C. he will then  fill the glass  full with sand blood or urine and slowly choke and die, or will never move from the spot where he found the glass.

But what is D.?

i had to read it a couple times lol.
    thanks for sharing.

  • This is a really different poem and I mean that in a good way. But what is D? great ending to an amazing piece of work. It makes you think which is great. It is also kind of sad because it speaks the truth I love love love the lines

He has wandered for so long, he has fallen so many times, and he has broken so many bones. He has lost so much and he has died so many times.

They are beautiful and draw the reader in. I think it would be nice if you capitalized the words after periods. But other than that your work is great! Thank you for this amazing and intreaging entry. It was a pleasure to read.

  • Interesting

It is an interesting problem to puzzle about. What does he do? I hope you finish. I can't really say much since it's not done. Lovely job you've done.

Breathtaking and fascinating. It makes me think about life's options. Punctuation would be nice though. Beautiful work anyway.
