We walk with heads held high
For no one can put us down.
We are the people who are shunned everyday
Left to walk in lonliness
Walk everyday in fear.
Beaten up and murdered
No one blinks an eye

So many lost and afraid of their own shadow
Walking in misery in this parched and barran land
Where hatred seeps like poison
From every corner we turn

We are the surviors
We have fought the good fight
We are who we are

I wrote this for all of us who have been discriminated against.. I write this for all who are suffering discrimination and hope that in time our society will become more understanding and compassionate. A big thankyou to LovelyLauren for making this issue noticed.

wow, this was really good. I loved the repition of "we walk with heads held high/for no one can put us down." I think that is exactly what everyone should do, but the unfortunate truth is that a lot of people walk with heads low, looking down so they don't have to see or are scared to see the world that hates them or they feel like if they look down they cannot be seen.

This really hits home for me, and "no one blinks an eye" is another sad truth.
