I am running faster than my legs can carry me
I am traveling faster than the speed of a heart beat
I have been through the forests of hate and
I have traversed the deserts of discrimination
My feet are tired and my hands are worn
Tattered and torn is my spirit
But fortunate is my heart and forever is my love
Continue to please and sing the song of the victorious
Bring me to the finish line because I am
Running faster than my legs can carry me
I am traveling faster than the speed of a whisper to your ear
But that is not fast enough for the world I live in
I need to go faster
Physics is no boundary for my emotions
For I can love faster than you can fly
And I can hate even before you begin to fall
My still heart beats in the vacuum of space
Whereas yours slows to a muted pace
The speed I travel is the only truth I know
Next to the love of my life
Be by my side and hold my hand
Run with me, be free, run with me
We could run faster than our devotion can carry us
As long as we run together

I've read and reread this piece and it is extraordinary
how you have captured the rhythm of 'running'. I was
left breathless after each read - not only in emotional
content, but also by it's vibrancy. Thank you so much for
entering! Love, Lane
