Wanderlust

The days began to bleed together,
As a delightful harmony between us
Became a marvelous cacophony.
The moon crashed in vengeful climax,
And the sun began to set in your eyes.

My hand falters upon your cheek
Porcelain cracked to reveal revulsion underneath.
I cannot speak the words I hold...

Epiphany, reality, don't forgive me...
I stood and smiled as my life was shattered.
Hatred, deception, a rueful tragedy...
Forsaken, I fall once more into my own abyss.

Our lives arched within tremendous agony,
Your lips barely grazing the hand of death.
Silken passion for the left-hand path,
Bequeathed a wealth of wonderful torture.
A devil's dream, a sickness upon your heart.

My sight blackens upon my waking,
A disquieting stillness to mask my bitter loathing.
I cannot no longer hide within my sanctuary.

Suicide, martyrdom, I was never a saint...
My spirit putrefied within your sacred words.
Damnation, eternity, my decadent purgatory...
Enthralled, I linger on the edge begging for more.

The nights began to whisper vexing words of hope,
As the hallowed silence between us
Became an exquisite ballet.
The universe fell to its knees,
And the stars withered within my eyes.
