Away
I
go...
Leaving my herd...
Carried by the hand of god,
Ushered into taking a dip in the cup of life.
Icy cold
White as snow
The waters in the cup r i p p l e
Gently as my hooves touch the surface.
I feel important,
My head growing bigger
As it soaks up knowledge.
But I now realize...
That like those little snacks that smile back
(Until you bite their heads off),
And that round, black and white, family
Whose children are all named "oreo",
I am merely sustenance
For a bigger world...
Please don't eat me...
Author notes
It's all metophrical and stuffs for being about a snack. Lolz
I always felt sorry for them tho, cuz they look like weird little animals. XD

the spacing didn't work for me in this case. other than that, you had some spots with strong content...thanks for entering.

That was fantastic! Simple, but with so much behind it. The last line made me smile, because it added a somewhat child-like aspect to the poem. The whole piece has the interesting twist of being the snack that doesn't realize what's going on just yet, which makes for a very entertaining and enjoyable read.
