Little girl, what hides behind those blue eyes?
For inside them I see shades of gray
Your eyes, the window to your soul
How can eyes so young reflect such depression?
Little girl, what sorrow do you disguise?
With a fake kind of grin on your porcelain face
Something must be hidden inside
For one so young, you cannot be so jaded
Little girl, what secrets do your blue eyes hide?
When the shades of gray more then a hint
What sorrows has your young life endured?
To make your blue eyes turn a shade of gray

I loved this. I have something alittle close to it. I really loved this though..

Very sad... But eye opening
Makes me think of a lot of people I know who can't tell if my smile is a fake one, or if I'm actually happy

-
This is indeed sad, but it is a part of life we must live with every day. I was forcibly reminded of this the other day when a girl I had not seen in five years approached me on the sidewalk and asked if I remembered her. She was sad then, and she is more so now. But that is what it means to minister to people in the inner city.

So sad but written in a wonderful way. This is great!

truly...even how blue our eyes are or how we pretend we are happy...sadness will always reflect on one's eyes..like you...I am also intrigue by strangers and sometimes I think I feel sadness or happiness...this piece is lovely as you would like to reach for a stranger...very nice!!!
