We Are Music

You were transposed for me,
Changed into my very own key.

                                      You were my center pitch,
The tone I wanted to hear,
                                            Descending scales and rising fortes.

Your beat made my heart pulse,
and your decrescendos wooed me.
I'll be the conductor of this beautiful symphony.

I create the dissonance between us.
Not meant for harsh tones and riddled harmonies.

You and I, we are like a Dolce mark,
sweet, delicate, and soft,

though in our heated moments are like an accelerando
our tempos quicken.
              Sforzando:
Suddenly intense.

                                                                          You and I are music,
the easiest way to describe our love.

                        At the end, our fine,
we will only create wonder and applause.

    Damnit.
    Stop outshining me.

Anyway- I really loved this...enter it into a contest.

  • This is an excellent and very romantic poem. The use of musical vocabulary as a methaphor is cunning. I couldn't suggest anything to improve the structure, it's presented well on the page and reads fluidly. Thanks for writing.

This is fantastic. Putting many moments to the beat of music is amazing. Mmm and crescendo is probably my favorite word ever, despite the fact it is a decrescendo =) Very romantic, very alive. I loved it.

    Great job

And thanks for the definitions. Not being musically inclined, I needed the "Fine". Very well done layout as well. Made me really smile.

  • LOVE it. You'd think this comparison would be cliched but it flowed beautifully like ironically, music.

    Love your use of vocabulary.
