Bombarded by the media
about overpopulation
and warnings that the world
will not see another generation.
For the frustration builds
a melting pot of desperation
and we're told that life
is just a mere aberration.
And cerebral thoughts
they brew and congeal,
threatening to suddenly boil over
for all life seems surreal.
Stop global warming,
don't let the poles thaw,
for now mankind carries
such a destructive flaw.
Like mice on a wheel
we peddle so fast,
as we bend and we break
with these problems so vast.
And looking around
it's we mice who work hard,
the ones always expected
to go extra yards.
Until finally the bough breaks
for the burden's too heavy
and finally the minds sandbanks
have broken their levy.
The volcano erupts
as the lava spews out
tensions must find release
that we can't do without.
Like a witch's brew
life keeps on the boil and bubble,
until finally the day
when we can't end the troubles.

Very impressive!

This has more truths in it than anything else I have read, such a stupid human race we are. Stunning that this is wearing a silver so nicely. Best to you in the contest

Excellent
So very full of truths. What a great creation. Best of luck in the contest. -
WOW! Great use of the prompt and pleasantly original. You are so right about what is happening in our world now. We've almost (or maybe already) reached the point of no return. Thank you for entering my contest and best of luck!

I suppose the only release from this pressure cooker is to write poetry. You seem to have found the perfect solution.

Metaphorist would love that line, the minds sandbanks have broken their levy. This is an eccelent statement on conditions and the pressures of living in this world today. And, beautifully written.

-
Excellent
Another powerful and well expressed write. Best of luck in the contest.

Sadly so very true. Soon there shall be two. Those in charge & the worker ants. And then we all shall be COMRADES. Damn what is happening?
