I've walked like an Army of Ants
past rocks grey, some damp
The mountains replaced the shore
trees where cactus scored
So many impressions
lost in the haze
memory fading
unlike life's early days
Animal trails of my life
cross the rivers of tears
and the days of strife
amid years
Lost love
and past betrayal
hatred dissipated
detained in a jail cell
Roads divide
with every mile
Causing confusing
bewildered smiles
Innocence lost
in Vietnam and sealed
Jungles of rot
twisting mind fields
I travel not expected trails
I walk the road
I sometime fail
to negotiate the curves
A road less traveled
my personal travail
life sucks
I await hell

I'm hearing a survivalist who's learned to navigate
those illusive trails And personal tribulations.Proven
By the fact, you're still here! Moving forward in the
Face of adversity is our only path when you think about it.
Surviving with the promise of "hoped for" is only fair
Considering the personal cost we pay forward.
Thank you Sir for doing the impossible in Nam.
I'm 59 and remember. Hopefully this is understandable.

Sometimes...adversity
is merely trivial compared to a heart beat. It doesn't matter how many times we fall, it merely matters that we open our eyes in the morning.

This is filled with much to contemplate, I will be back to read it again and again. Those last lines hit me hard
