don’t be enticed
by my words
for they are only words
they may whisper
of love
of longing
but they are only words
however deeply they may touch
the longing within you
I could be describing
anything really
the crimson sunset
the morning breezes
or a dream that made me sigh
but they are only words
furthermore
don’t mind my words
even now
for I am a cautious Lover
like a shrinking violet
or a secret wish
obscuring myself
in the whiteness of the page
cloaking myself in expressions
hiding in the symbolism
waiting to be discovered
to be coaxed open
unsure of these feelings
of this yearning
even now
these are
only words

It does seem that in todays world people for the most part do say what they can to get what they want and then turn away.
's It is not what I was taught by my parents and grandparents, theirs was a way of caring and compassion.
