Enchanting city of such mystery,
In all of Europe I would love to see.
Buildings of splendour, each one works of art,
The Hofburg, the Karlskirche, where do we start?
Parks and gardens, flowers bloom to delight,
Each building a colourful show at night,
Old world grandeur on which to feast your eyes,
Coffee and desserts to provoke sweet sighs.
Sample the music, the old and the new,
There will be something that appeals to you.
Castles, churches, the Spanish Riding School,
Work out in the gym or swim in the pool.
Let’s go in the spring when nature is new,
Perhaps summertime is better for you?
The colours of autumn would be a sight,
Or see the Christmas market busy at night.
The sights, sounds and ambience of the place,
Will stay in your heart and light up your face.
Vienna is like a magnet to me,
Enchanting city full of history.

There is a street in Vienna where the musicians play and all the usual clubs of modern music, the Opera House and of course the classics. Vienna has it all. Thank you for commenting Golden eyes, I do appreciate it.

I remember the seasons of Berlin when I was stationed there with the military years ago, ah, memories.
All the best,

I bet there were memories MJ but you would of been young and carefree with other interests on your mind I expect. The historical beauty and the countryside is what captures my heart these days. Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks Hilly. So many places I would love to see. I have just made a slide show of this poem with music. I do them just for fun and it looks quite good and yes, I used the Blue Danube Walz.

Thank you for stopping by wbiro. Is that the Vienna Philharmonic? You look at the ballrooms and can just picture the people in the finery swirling around the floor to the magnificent waltzes. The Vienna Boys Choir do the most fantastic Christmas Carol service too, we get that on TV Christmas Day. Fabulous place absolutely captivates me. Pity I will never go.
