Salvation

Prayerfully I walked in placid night,

feeling His breath soft on my face.

Seeking mercy for my mistakes,

along with His forgiving grace.

An opaline moon lit my way,

while fulgent stars performed their dance.

His presence strong within my heart,

as I looked upon His rich expanse.

So thankful to have heard His call,

when the Holy Spirit spoke my name.

Humbly I fell on bended knees,

surrendering to God all my shame.

With strong avowal of Jesus Christ,

I atoned my deepest sins to Him.

My Savior then and forever more,

forgave me everyone of them.

As a person of faith who depends very much on redeeming grace, I found this a compelling testimony. By faith we experience the beauty of creation with the joy of being known by the Creator. Through grace we comprehend the awesome power of that same Creator as the sustaining force by which we shall live through eternity.
This will be a difficult poem for those without faith or knowledge of grace. Perhaps though, it shall be a means of grace for one who is contemplating the meaning of existence.
