The Power of Virtue

There is power in your virtue
To enable you to cope;
There is dignity in honor,
There's a miracle in hope.

There is joy in grace and goodness,
There's a calm that comes with peace -
There's a gift in gratitude that
Leads where blessings never cease.

There are friends that come with kindness,
And with sharing there is wealth;
When you heal the pain of others
You will grow in strength and health.

There's a quality in patience
That will keep you from distress,
And your faith will keep you going
When your life's a virtual mess.

Possibilities are endless
When love is in your heart;
And forgiveness holds together
What would soon be torn apart.

There's a throne awaiting for you
When you wear a righteous gown;
Longsuffering humility
Will earn yourself a crown.

There is power in your virtue
That will loosen every rope -
That will rid you of your shackles
And enable you to cope;

That will pour upon you blessings
Inexplicable and odd;
If you build a life of virtue
And you base your life on God.

    Besides the

    unfolding truths contained in this poem, the elements of virtue are 'humbly released' into a flowing poem, with equally striking ending. I enjoyed reading this poem. Be blessed. Frans

    Is there a reason that you did not enter this divine write in paw-writers most recent contest about human virtues. it would appear to be an excellent entry from my vantage point. Loved it and it speaks to anyone who takes the time to absorb it. Be well my friend. You have the gift. RC

      Robin, I searched through al the contests and couldn't find any that I thought would be appropriate for this poem. I can't find Paw Writer among the authors
      when I do a search.
