Seems like I've been laying in the snow wounded
Since my heart has been broken
My eyes have refused to close
But I lay in the cold not breathing
Hands grasping at cold earth
My body is frozen
I'm not dead
But stuck in time
Eyes black with shock
Tears all but gone
Yet in the horizon the sun is rising
My eyes flutter at the warmth
Family has been lost, but a new family gained
My hands begin to regain feeling
Mistakes have been made, but the future is in my hands
My breath comes back to me
Because heartbreak is apart of life
I feel dazed as I look around to see the sun bright
Melting the frozen earth
My heart may not sing again, but it is awake
Aware of each almost
Just like anything stuck in time
Love is hard to hold onto
The wind surrounds me in embrace
Kissing me lightly on the forehead
Letting me know it will always be there
When all else fails
I'll have the world to hold

This is a really good piece. The emotion of despair and wanting to give up, is dripping from each line. I like the ending, almost like redemption. Picking yourself up and keeping it moving. Very good piece. - cgirl0410
