The Dark Side of Luck

Luck is something you want on your side
but there's a part of luck where evil resides!

This thing is caused by something greener than a three-leaf clover
It is the sinful despicable greed...the uncontrollable money lover!

So should you risk it all on a roll of a dice?
This greed can control you like a group of lab mice!

Well if you lose a lot you'll shrug and say "Oh Well!"
but our life will become a dark living hell!

So go ahead and get yourself deeper in the greedy muck,
Your such a darn fool who relied on just on dumb luck!

I wrote this poem for the contest "St.Patrick's Day contest" I chose the word prompt...I went for something I feel no one else would write on which is the dark side of luck which is greed, and this can make a person lose all that the have...So i hope you enjoy my unique poem

    i just love poems that make me think, and this one succeeded!
    i never thought about how greed and luck are related, but you can't really have luck without greed

    Luck vs. greed!! Where to draw the line.....very interesting!! Can't say that I would shrug and say OH WELL if I lost it all on the roll of the dice but to each there own! Thank you for your entry....

    There is definitly a dark side of luck. You've done well expressing it. The only issue I have is trying to read it, maybe change the black to white? or to a lighter shade of green because I had to highlight the poem to read.
    Good write though and it's good to see something different
