Gan Gan is a nasty man
Reminds me of Old Uncle Dan
His clothes are dirty and unclean
He's so indescribably mean
He will not buy me lots of things
Like fashion clothes, expensive rings
And other things I'd like of course
A pony or a trotting horse
He won't buy me a pussy cat
Or a hamster, fancy that
There's lots of things he just won't buy
No matter how I wail or cry
What's worse and makes me so appalled
His head is totally flipping bald!
Gran Gran on the other hand
Is the nicest Grandad in the land
On his head is lots of hair
He doesn't scold me in despair
He buys me anything I need
Even when my motive's greed
If I wanted, he'd buy me a pup
He never never winds me up
His temper's always in control
He's often funny, sometimes droll
If I'm in need of sound advice
He's always patient and so nice
And now I really must be going
And by the way,
Gran Gran didn't write this poem.

My 5 year old granddaughter, whom we see very little of, calls me Gran Gran, and her other Grandad Gan Gan. She teases me sometimes when I'm winding her up, that she wants to go home to her Gan Gan, who is MUCH nicer than me, so I thought I'd write this little poem for her to give to the other Gan Gan!
