The Most Formidable Opponent

Where does Doubt come from?
Or was it always here and there?
Breathing, lurking in the shadows
Twisting like smoke through the air

Stewing up a storm of envy
Directed towards Love's tempestuous haste
Clever and patient, when the moment is ripe
Sneaking through the Temple gates

When Love's tripumphant party is done
Drunken Dreams float towards the moon
Sleeping Saviors lay unaware
Their temple will be laid to ruin

The Trojan Horse awakes again
Producing killers swift and bold
They penetrate us to our hearts
In an instant leave us numb and cold

O While we had them in open battle
We should have snuffed the last one out!
For we've been choked by plants of poison
That started off as seeds of Doubt

whatdya think?
