Suicidal Hearts

I wonder if anyone cares as it starts to rain.
I wonder if they would desire to know.
No.  Why should they care for someone who has caused so much shame
I suppose it's time for me to let go.
I'll do it for them, to end all their suffering and pain.
Bury me and hide my sins below.

They all look so small.  I can't wait to join them below.
The air smells so fresh after the rain
I'm so excited it will end all my body's pain
what a comforting thought to have and know.
Well it's time for me to step over it's time to go . . .
Still my blood will make a mess, what a shame.

I can't live with the horror I can't live with the shame
all the memories of the dark below.
I kept trying to fight him back but he wouldn't let me go.
Now I'm thrown out in thunder and rain
left lying in the mud waiting for the rest of them to know.
I won't do it.  I won't live with the pain.

Why am I always wrong?  Why do they say I cause the pain?
Why do I give the family name shame?
I guess they are always right I guess they always know.
They can read my heart and what's below
so I will lie here and let the shower continue to rain,
they are right it is time for me to go.

It's not fair I love him and I refuse to let him go.
They say time will heal the tears and pain.
I still remember the day he died.  It began to rain
and he died a hero.  No shame.
But I want to lie by him even in the ground below
but I'll do it so no one will know.

Mommy's crying again but she doesn't know that I know.
I hear her say she wished she could go.
Every night I hear her sobbing in the bedroom down below.
Looking at me causes her so much pain.
Tonight is the last night, I will give my mommy no more shame
I will hang so her tears will not rain.

Can you say who burns below?  Can you say you truly know?
Let all their blood rain, don't let their cries go.
And I pray you feel their pain, before you label them with shame.
