I bought three joints of lamb,
popped out the kitchen door.
Came back and found my dog,
had got one on the floor.
I was gone - just for a second,
to fetch a marker pen;
when I heard a crunching sound
so I rushed back and then...
I snatched it from her grasp,
which wasn't very easy.
Rinsed it, popped it in the freezer
hope it doesn't make us queazy!
I've learnt my lesson now,
not to leave things unattended.
My dog looks quite put out,
as she hasn't comprehended...
that the Sunday joint needs cooking
not raw - for her to scoff.
Though she'll probably still get some,
despite the telling off!

I found this somewhat disconcerting. Remind me to decline any kind invitations you issue to a Sunday lunch chez toi - half-chewed lamb I can do without - in any case, why not let the mutt finish it off?

Rhyme was excellent and the flow was good.

Hello stranger!
Haven't seen you about on AP for ages!
So lovely to see you writing once again.
This is of your usual very funny standard ~ and reminds me vividly of when a new adopted dog to our family years ago swallowed an entire roasted chicken...only to vomit it up some days later (still in its entirety, minus the flesh!
) on the living room carpet! Eeeooowww!
Loved it, dear lady, and it's grand to see you posting again!
