Who am I

Who am I

Who am I?
What am I?
The same question
Asked by millions
And billions
Over the years
In the thick of tears
Demanding
And begging
For an answer
Ready to barter
Their own soul
Life’s goal
Listening
And wondering
Again questioning
What is right?
Black and white
Diving deep
In self to seek
Finding hollows
Nothing to follow
Turning back
To the pleasure shack
Sweating hot
Trembling heart
Ready to stop.

The basic difference
And the preference
For the shallows
Easy to swallow
But.
After effects
Life is so
Full of defects
Mind in haze
Full of glaze
Thoughts ablaze
Ready to quit
Fading spririt
Looking right
Half bright
And to the left
Fear of theft
Never slept
Poking around
Hollow ground

Then a new plan
Converting the man
Feat of wisdom
Every thing welcome
Back door entry
Suffocating cry
Don’t ask
Difficult task
No need to know
Color of snow

And
Marching right
Season bright
Hands on wheel
For a short while
Power of control
Feeling whole
Waving hand
Creating brand
Making hay
Nothing is gray

Then
Sudden change
Narrow range
Highs and fall
Every where walls
Hard to come
All undone
Mouth dry
Friends fly
Same story
What is why
Who am I
