I want to soar
on bird wings.
Looking toward the blue world
I watch them fly and I think
of home--
home is where the heart is;
mine is in the sky.
Wish not on the stars,
but on the beautiful birds
who can almost reach them.
Close enough to feel the magic,
defining grace with the strokes of their wings.
on bird wings.
Looking toward the blue world
I watch them fly and I think
of home--
home is where the heart is;
mine is in the sky.
Wish not on the stars,
but on the beautiful birds
who can almost reach them.
Close enough to feel the magic,
defining grace with the strokes of their wings.

I do love birds and the freedom they hold at wings tip. You captured it perfectly with just the right imagery. Well written. Best to you in the contest

Thank you very much~

Oh, this is so sweet. I've met people before that completely feel they belong in the sky like birds (so they became pilots or joined the AirForce). Since I have a somewhat fear of flying, I can't say I have the same passions. But, the freedom of the bird is deffinately something I can associate with!
Awesome take on the prompt, especially since birds are usually associated with peacefulness.
Thank you

This is an interesting concept. It seems kind of sad to me though because the third stanza seems like a loss of hope or something. I did enjoy it though. Good job and good luck. ~Des

I like it, just not a winner.

almost makes me think you are an adrenaline junky or you feel really boxed in always wanting to soar,

Ahaha yeah, my most recent poems have been a little birdy! Thanks for all your kind comments and applause. *_*

I find the ongoing theme quite interesting and maybe you can enlighten me to reason to this?
I use to have a pet sun conure and they are quite fun...very attention demanding and quite noisy when they don't get it.
-
-
Ah~
I really love conures. I bonded with one of them at the pet shop, but they're sooo expensive. TT____TT
Well I consider my spirit to be a bird, if that makes any sense... I've always felt 'linked' with them somehow, and really... it's hard to explain why I feel this way, I guess it's the same reason people believe in God, or various other powers or nature spirits. I guess the simplest way to go about it is that I believe in reincarnation, sort of, and that I'm a bird reincarnated into the wrong body...
Uh. Yeah. *fails at explain* -
-
yeah they are expensive, but are definitely easy to bond with.
I got mine when he still needed to be hand fed with a syringe.
That makes sense as I too have felt an infinity with certain things.
Maybe birds are your spirit guides

Awww
I plan on getting a cockatoo for my birthday (present to myself? haha)
My friend down the street has one and he's a really smart bird.
Spirit guides, hm, that seems about right~ Thank you! ^^ -
-
hey that's a good idea. I get myself "b-day" gifts too. When is your big day?
-
-
April 14th~ It's coming soon so I'm excited!
-
-
that's awesome. Less waiting then. Do you have a name picked out yet for your soon to be new friend or is it a wait and see what fits you type thing?
-
-
I'm leaning toward the name Binka for a boy, or Sora for a girl. But of course I'll wait and see, and if a different name strikes me entirely then I'll go with it.
