by now-
sandpaper caressing-
massaging-
lulling her to sleep-
but the tenderness
found in those
caresses was something new-
it was soft,
and gentle,
caring and loving-
it spoke loudly
of something new
to her-
unsure how to react-
tears flowing like rivers,
fallen from sunken eyes
looking up,
realizing they are caught
in palms and...
put away for another day,
when she needs a reminder...
... rain drop kisses,
to help her through
another day.
