Playing solitaire,
tedium cutting corners of finest cards,
I deviate my desires
from wanting you
to something
that’s already been done.
Coral vines
and trees trimmed needlessly,
marble polished to lose its shine,
bare ground seen
amidst patches of lawn watered overly
and birds sent away
by my constant presence around them.
Why I resist looking
in the direction you are to come,
sitting on the porch
admiring time?
The moonlight pierces through
my solitude
taking longer and longer
to sail across the sky
and the sun
will take an eternity
before it brings your shadow
through the gateway.
Author notes
Maybe one of my worst writes, I'm ready for the thrashing!!! LOL!

It's not a bad write at all..actually loved the imagery and metaphors you mixed within this. I think you did a great job! Thank you for entering.
