The glowing sun is like a gloomy night
When I wake up each early morn
The rain shines and glistens in my sight
While I think of you with regret.
Then I wonder why in a silent whisper
I utter your name, over and over
My heart skips its beating like a whimper
For there’s no echo of your name, I hear.
Now I know the reason why
The morning mourns, the night is blue
And why I always sigh and cry
It is because I miss you so.
If I hurt you that never meant to be,
I apologize.

The image of the morning mourning will stay with me forever... in fact, I think I'll paint it.
Excellent write! The last two lines seemed a little... strange... in flow. I figured they were probably a prompt so I ignored it, but I'd want to re-word that a little if it were my poem. Of course, it isn't, so ignore me if you want
