who will tell megan
that melonie's dead?
who wants to break to her this news?
when a child forms a friendship
she expects it to last
not realising friends they can lose
this is her first loss
some may say its not real
but to her it is still very sad
that this watermelon
was chewed by the dog
will she forgive him
for being so bad?
she had carried that melon
from shop to our home
she had drawn a sweet face
in felt pen
but while she was sleeping
the puppy attacked
we shall not see melonie again
so who will tell megan?
it has to be me
i sure hope that i can sound sad
as i break to my daughter
this very bad news
about the loss of a new friend she had.

Very heartbreaking to read this. I will hold all of you in my heart and prayers. Being a momma is sometimes hard when we have to watch our lil ones hurt...she is very lucky to have a mom as wonderful as you to see her through, may God bless you and Megans family... ~Marla~
