Survival of the Fittest

In these trying times of today
We have found many a way
To lose direction and to wander
Across faith, hope and yonder
No one to lead and to guide
Love lost and hatred on our side
Not a penny in the pocket
Lots of money for the rocket
Filthy environment, filthy slums
Nothing normal, mental asylums
Graves filled with the living dead
Lives lived with pages unread
Abortion of a noble idea
Birth of a new media

Author notes

Survival of the fittest in these trying times ,of poems without rhymes,we lay on the dashboard of misery, a mere statistic of fate, we are today's doomsday children, without a care in the world, we know the future is going to be worse, not that the present is better
Yet for the heck of it the collapsing economy, the reducing per capita, the harrowing job losses, the dangerous defence budgets, the slumdog millionaires ,the slums of Bombay, the ghettos of filth coupled with the Arabian Seaside washing away of human excreta
The pollution the grime the commotion the crime the rape-steal-borrow and the gape-seal-tomorrow the loss of fame and the profit of shame..the frustration and the angst the resignation amidst pangs the rich get richer
The poor cease to exist
This life is no life if a child is born today
We are bringing one more mouth to feed but then God's gift should not be meted out such injustice
Babies are sold to meet maternity bills
What more does God want ,emergency pills?

Please tell me what you think

I like the rhyming of this piece. It flows freely without force. Great write. - cgirl0410
