There's a Ghost in our House

There's a ghost in the house of you and me
I cannot see her but I sense her ever-present ectoplasm
Ominously omnipresent
She fingers my uncertainty
Do you still touch her?

Transparently she resurrects your passion
Then is gone - for now
Leaving behind the rancid perfume of your stolen love
She suffocates my smile
Do you still smell her?

Shrouding your eyes as you cry
I trace her phantom tears from your eyes to your mouth
My lips are alive whilst yours are dead
She poisons my kisses
Do you still taste her?

She is there by day but especially by night
Whispering in your ear and terrorising your dreams
Voicelessly crying out your name
She shatters my sleep
Do you still hear her?

Reflected back from your bitter mirrored eyes
I see her finger beckon you towards your past
Luring you onto the rocks of her soul
She blinds my future
Do you still see her?

She spirits you away from the grave of your dead love
To haunt the corridors of your memories
Together you tread on my heart
She steals my hope
Do you still love her?
