Darkness so deep it sucks away all light
wrapped in an intense shell of sun
The harshest winter night
blanketed in a lazy summer day
A wolf
in a lamb's guise
An assassin's blade
hidden behind a player's clever sleight of hand
The mask you wear every day:
that smile on your lips
with your eyebrows turned down
A walking contradiction
A living misconception
Never able to pick the fork in the road
Just cutting through the roughage
in between them
All of these are an embodiment of the human race
yet they are merely a scratch on the surface
of the tangled mess of what I am
But can what you are
Ever define who you are?
