Coffee And Donut

There is fragrant hole,
like silk in sovereign dimension
saturating frosted circle
of flying dough,
where eye pretends nothing
is everything;

black as galaxy
lips drawing hand
to swallowed star, smile painted red,
as blond and melting,

that space within the space without.

I buy a dozen,

lace inventing mouth
that seeks tongue's trilling taste
teasing in and out,
near and far
to tethered companion,

dimension to essence,
nucleus noting curve and cleavage,
floating body in wishful mind
through dream-dunked drama in Columbian coffee,
golden,
sugar-glazed ring sustaining,

a spun delight in darker drink.

  • This is why you are one of my favorites. You have a way with words that inspire me to try and write better. Thank you for this gift you have that opens my mind to better ways of writing. I love this piece. You create something as normal as an experience with coffee and donuts and made it into a culinary delight of words beautifying the experience of visual, taste and touch.....bravo!
