BrokenOphelia

BrokenOphelia is not so bad
albiet sounds dejected and sad
It is a good one for your alter-ego
but one you may not always show

Wasn't Ophelia lost in the world
waiting for her love to rescue her?
Where she waited in grief and all alone
for her love to bring her safely home?

Ophelia was so close to redemption
through divine mercy she did ascend
Only to doubt and look behind her
and all that she believed in gone forever

Poor BrokenOphelia there is still a chance
that you will find your own way again
For you have chosen a harder path
to make your own choices that last

I like the twining of inferences here. And, the reality is, so many think they need to nearly die for their losing of love. I spent many years allowing a man to define me..I am surely glad I got over that!

This reminds me of Lots wife, who turned into a pillar of salt when she looked back on Sodom and Gomorrah..a beautiful write and so mournful, yet hope still exists for Ophelia..

Yes, and there is the Greek myth Orpheus...

where he is given the chance to go into the underworld to retrieve his love under the condition that he never looks back at her walking behind him. Well, he can't resist because he loses heart and his faith, and sadly she is gone forever to him; at least until he dies and joins her in Hades.

Ophelia is another tragic tale of lost love...

I think that I mixed up a few stories in this write.
      thank you for reading it!

I like the poem, but the name does ring a bit too sad...remember she drowned herself in insanity; that's not a lovely thought.
