When I look at T.K.'s* work,
such beauty do I see!
I dwell on each new masterpiece
done so perfectly!
My eyes drink in each detail,
each cottage, bridge and tree.
It seems as if each picture
was custom-made for me.
I wonder at his talent,
the way he shares his gift..
when viewing his art gallery,
my spirits get a lift!
This brilliant 'painter of light'
well deserves the name.
Each painting, good as gold,
garners fortune and fame.
What he gives to the world,
each priceless treasure's
'a thing of beauty',
a joy forever**!

Dearest Maureen, Kinkades paintings always look alive, the looks real and the moon shining on the water..beautiful.

Ok, I did see this. I even read it. I was going to make a comment about Kincade and how my mom likes him and has done a few paintings in his style just for fun. She's a pretty good artist. Myself, I'm not his biggest fan, the colors seem unrealistic, but I am in the vast minority.

Having said that, I wish I had his talent! lol Ok, I'm a hypocrite, but an honest one!
The poem is lovely, and yes, I read this about a week ago. Apparently I got distracted before commenting.
Thank you for describing something beautiful, and not for describing me as ugly! lol Thanks ''anonymized'' Halasovski.

Thanks a lot, Yem!
You're lucky to have such a talented Mom..looks like it runs in the family (re: creativity).
I'm amazed that your Mom is able to duplicate Kinkade's style. I thought he had a 'secret ingredient' that makes his paintings so luminous! Do you have any idea what your Mom does to reflect light the way TK does? I'd love to be in-the-know!

Well she's no Kinkade, she'll be the first to admit that. For for a dabbler, she does pretty good. I'll see if I can get a photo of one she's done. She also did a style like a popular TV painter years ago...''something'' Alexander, I forget now his first name.
I doubt she could tell you what she does. I've asked her about painting before and she usually says, "I just paint." lol -
-
I would love to see a photo of one of her 'just like TK' paintings! Thanks ahead of time..very nice thing for you to do (even if you're not successful)!

My eye is always drawn to TK's work. There is never a question as to who the artist is when seeing one of his works for the first time. His conceptions on canvas are so recognizable and distinct. To me, there is a sense of enchantment or magic somehow mixed in with his paints as he creates captured in drying thus becoming part of the piece.
Beautifully written poem Maureen.

Thank you very much, Pix E. Stix!
I agree..there's something magical about Thomas Kinkade's artwork and a sense of enchantment, too! T.K.'s a religious man and I believe each one of his paintings is a gift from God. When I look at T.K.'s work, I get a feeling 'all is right' with the world (and that's an achievement in itself)!

Pure as the drifting snow
Thomas Kincaide would probably think about placing this finely written poem on one of his masterpieces! Best Wishes! Very Vey well done.

Ah, artist extraordinaire,
promoting painting en plein air,
his work characterized by glowing light.
And masterful as well, creating
an array of products on the market.
Maureen, a perfect capture of the subject!
Kudos!

I agree that the paintings by Kinkade are something different - he finds every glimmer of light and shows it to us. This is a magical kind of vision, which a photograph cannot capture and most painters miss it too, but it is not false.
Your rhyme is sweet and easy to read. Lovely poem. Best of luck!

Hi Margaret,
When I admire any kind of artist, whether it be a singer, painter, etc., my pleasure increases when I know it's shared by others. Your comments about Kinkade excited me more than your comments about my poem (although I was happy you liked it)!
Thank you very much!

Dear Maureen,
Although this contest's host
is YEM, the god of Moxie,
methinks he will not boast
this painting's "chocolate-boxy."
For Thomas Kinkade's duty
as an inspired artist might
is to capture all the beauty
of a landscape filled with light.
So-called "experts" in the arts
his paintings may eschew,
but they still appeal to hearts
of folk like me and you.
Your poem aptly fits
the works of T-K's wits.
Applause, love and hugs, and best of luck in the voting.
XXX Hugh.
