Burn

Miniscule bandage,
Gripping to the burn,
From cooking eggs this morning.
Blue stain,
Eyelash.
Held to my finger,
Tape's support.
Fingernail poking through
To see the light,
Skin wet and wrinkled,
Aching to be free
-A break-
Breathes the air,
Though still stiff,
Burn feels just fine.
No sting.
No ache.
Goodbye bandage.

This is true, I burned my finger this morning making eggs, and I have a little bandage on it. I took it off for a break and decided it's fine enough to keep off.
