“To the portal of dreams
You must go.
There you fantasies will take form.
Live the dream!”
This the oracle told,
And I followed the paths
In forests, to a sacred hidden cave.
And there I found a wall,
I tapped the rocks and behold!
The portal was revealed!
And there I saw
Majestic waterfalls,
Colourful rocks,
Glittering little fairies,
Eagles soaring;
My dream of a beautiful land.
There I knew I could live,
Be myself and feel my powers grow.
Just a step and I will be free…
Just a step into … the portal…

Hey, cool poem you have here that came out of the picture that inspired it. I liked the flow to it, and the words that you used in the descriptions. Just one thing, in the first stanza, third line, is the word supposed to be "your" instead of "you"? That's the only thing that bothered me because I assumed it was just an error. Anywho, nice job with this, thanks for sharing, and I am glad that I was able to read it!

Oh, this is quite excellent, indeed! I do so love this piece, the first stanza is perfect and sets a wonderful tone for the poem! Love it.. (I could not find the illo however.)

searching for my freedom and happiness, Alas to no avail. If you would share us the secret directions to the portal, wow, I would be freed, but I am sure the only one step missing for me to make will be impeded by the ogres of tangible realities. How beautiful that dream was with the magic brush with which you painted all the charm and coveted world many of us seek, some to escape their pains and frustration, while others seek to destroy as they are destroying reality. how beautiful and how awful. So short and so sweet and luring like anything beautiful that ends as it begins
