Hills hiding mist of morning dew,
An aged sea bottom now a splendid vale
Stretching toward peaks, yet destined to fail
Ancient armor clashes in mind so attuned
Thoughts of old prophecies so finely hewn
The Oracle awaits another quarry
A muddled answer,for questioner's parry
Hero and heroines of days gone by
Struggle against the odds, for secrets to pry
Who will win the battle? Who will be victorious?
And what God's and nations will remain glorious
The heroes and the fortunes are now long past;
The priests and the priestesses on vocal fast
But stone and sculpture attest to the fidelity
Of ancient Greeks to the seer of Delphi

There is great mystery in your well-rhymed words dear sister. Beauty sits in the midst of this poem and awakens the spirit of the reader. I know you will do exceedingly well with this one Sis'. This reminds me of the Greek mythology I was taught in school, although I've forgotten most of it now. I do remember loving the stories though, maybe I'll take up as a hobby some day.
These two lines especially stuck out to me:
"Who will win the battle? Who will be victorious?
And what God's and nations will remain glorious"
These are questions I often ask myself, and definitely could be connected to the days and events of today. Beautiful poem, wonderfully written, and full of mystery. Thanks for inviting me to read this beauty and good luck in the contest! I can definitely see this winning the gold.
