Roll up Roll up, Ladies and Gentlemen Roll up
The Charade circus is coming to town
We got large lions and tigers
Parading Elephants and Sartorial Camels
And Dancing Ladies on beautiful white horses
Welcome to the ring just watch all the courses
Bring on the clowns with the silly frowns
spotlight trapeze act as the swings round
Crowds watch in awe as flies through the air
Popcorn, Peanuts and Hot-dogs.. small fare
small buttery fingers laugh and smile with glee
Wider and Wider tiny eyes wonders can see
Hear the Organ grinders and the monkey minders
The shouts of the Carney's in the Alley sideshows
Its all about freak and some very strange geeks
And games of hoops and guns and fortune teller speaks
Ride with me round and round on the carousel
A white horse for me and an Swan for you
Sounds of excitement fades to illusion
A child now an adult fits back in confusion
All thats left are the clowns of the masquerade
A life of such sadness , darkness on parade
Still he sees the painted faces of the mind
They smile and they laugh at the novelty they find
His life was such crap like a circus parade
Everyone laughing and smiling , crying
Specialist people doing their tricks
Darkness splintered in a number of sticks
The surgeons knife cuts deep like a spade
Phantoms of reasons ..Clowns of the Masquerade
