Her mallet was old
the balls chipped and cracked,
grass on her lawn brown
and full of weeds,
yet she’d played croquet alone
every night,
neighbors thought her mad,
but during the game
creativity inspired artistry,
nobody dared to complain
since the beauty of her gifts
none could match.

I love this because you tell the reader just enough to wish the poem continued on..telling us what beautiful gifts she must create. It also reminds me of my grandma. She used to play croquet.
Love,
Stacy
