I do not Like War

I do not like war,
I do however understand,
What each man’s desire is,
They know what they are fighting for.

I understand how countries clash,
I know how cities go from secure to ruins in a flash,
I still do not like war,
I don’t care what our men are fighting for.

Although my head knows very well,
My heart swells with confusion,
My head pounds with understanding,
Someone please make my heart come out of delusion,
All I see is suffering and death,
Please someone tell me is it over yet?
I love the men, who go to war,
I hate the cost of what they are fighting for.

I have seen how family members have cried,
When a serving soldier has died,
I do not like war,
Even though we have won what we fought for.
