Mirror Mirror on the Wall
Who is the fairest of them all
"Certainly not you," the mirror replied
"Definitely not you."
And so with a fist that mirror did fall
And reflecting on each grounded shard
A whore appeared and the mirror simply laughed
On each fragmented shard
Shone an angry little girl
Words scattered in every shiny piece
Of the things I am and had been before
"You dirty, insecure, little, whore
You cannot break me, for I will always reflect you."
And so with the heel of my foot
I created faery dust
And tossed it out with the garbage
Yet the haunting image still remains
But like the mirror
I am not broken
Simply shattered
Never to be fixed again
Just recycled
Author notes
Prompt was I Am Not Broken.
Originally was going to be a contest entry, but went far too long (it was a 30-40 word one)
