Butterfly

Dreams became nightmares
caught in crystal panes
confinement's flair, for
get me not promises
rained down fear.

Craving ventilation;
needs dire to breathe
sweet imprisonment.
Faint melodies of song
swirling emotions
as her invisible quill
pen's frantic!

The jar tip-over
she can fly again
free on wings of hope
gossamer as life.

Absolutely beautiful. Your AN's were as inspiring as the work itself. I plan to bookmark this piece so I can come back here when I lose all hope of ever being free and perhaps this will remind me that one day that jar just may tip over and I'll be able to fly again free on wings of hope. Thank you for such beauty in your writes.

This is a nice twilight piece. This echoes nicely the image of being caught between two panes of glass. There is a dance here that pulls the reader in to join with steps and thoughts of their own. Very well done.
    Love, Tom B.

Butterflies should never be confined. They should always be free to be and so is the heart meant to be. This poem makes me remember how wonderful it is to be a child and run through a field full of beautiful butterflies on the breeze.

I have been here before.....the feeling is overwhelming. Perhaps that is also the reason I dont enjoy any animals that have to be caged 24/7. Just a cruel reminder....This was incredible! I hope this person learns to soar now.....
