My Trip to London

With all of my notes and maps on my lap,
We left the runway and took to the air.
I lowered the tray table held by a strap;
The trip was expensive, with first class fare.
I was excited, could not take a nap,
So I spread my notes and pulled back my hair.
I have never been to London before,
But I had the maps I found at the store.

I felt a bit strange as we took to the sky
For there was this guy sitting next to me.
I noticed his eyes were glued to my thigh,
Adjusting my skirt I covered my knee.
I asked him his name; he said in reply;
“My name is Jeff and I live ‘cross the sea”.
He was dressed in a waistcoat and a nice suit,
I have to admit; I thought he was cute.

We arrived at Heathrow, the weather was fine.
Jeff asked for a date; “I’ll show you the town”.
He said; “come with me, I’ll take you to dine”,
I smiled and I thought I’d wear my best gown.
The restaurant was quiet, he ordered the wine,
I felt like a princess wearing a crown.
We never had dinner, we left there instead;
That’s how I saw London; in cricketjeff’s bed.

      Ah thanks! It was written to cheer Jeff up and a contest. I removed it because the host is one of those people that doesn’t like anything I write.

    I took a little trip upon a plane
    And met a girl as pretty as a rose
    I'll never be as lucky once again
    I'm thrilled and I am sure my pleasure shows
    I asked her out to dine, it was not strain
    I'd show her sites a London fellow knows
    We didn't dine did something else instead
    I'm grinning and she's by me in my bed!

    I am so greatly honoured
    Thank-you Amera for a wonderful dedication
