It never was a love thing
You had, not in the real sense
Of the word, maybe sex made
Up for it at one time, but
That wore thin in the end when
The excitement waned and he
Sought others to fulfil the
Lack he felt between you both,
But it never was a love
Thing, sure you kissed and both gave
Embrace, stared at each other’s
Features face to face, but it
Never went deeper than that,
Not soul deep, not to that real
Profound level of knowing
And caring no matter what
Kind of thing and staring at
Yourself in the mirror you
Wonder what your next lover
Will be like and what’ll bring.

omg...this is the poem for me right now! awesome...my bf and I just broke it off last night...and every word of this described our relationship perfect..except the whole cheating part, neither of us cheated but we ended it before it got to that point. yes, the excitements over and we realize there was really no love..in the true sense of the word
...and that last stanza freaked me out...I was just thinking about that this morning.
weird...lol

This is... Sad. It makes you think of the metaohysical bond between two people. Keep it up!

nice...but kinda sad... i think what you trying to say here is..making love to someone's soul..not merely physical...love is..just is...so gorgeous and beautiful...but not everyone can embrace it..truly.
